  • This was my first time here and the sandwich was pretty good. Nothing spectacular but it wasn't bad either. I had the Streetcar Po' boy with a side of Cajun fries and the fried pickles. The Service: I got my sandwich to go so I don't know about in-house service, but from my experience taking out, I can say that service was pretty good. The lady greeted us at the counter as soon as we walked in, let us have time to look at the menu, answered our questions and was very friendly. My food took a while but it was nothing ridiculous. Fried Pickles: these were delicious, they were nice and crispy and the flavor of the batter wasn't overpowering so you could still taste the brininess of the pickle. They came with some kind of dipping sauce, which was also very good. It complimented the pickles perfectly. Cajun fries: these weren't very good. They tasted like they weren't seasoned until after the fries were cold, so the seasoning didn't stick well. They were kind of blah. They almost felt unnecessary, which is insane cause po' boys and fries together are the rightest thing in the world. The Streetcar Po' boy: this was good but it wasn't like "slap your sister" good. It comes with a filet of fried catfish and a few oysters and shrimp. The flavor was good, the seafood was well seasoned but nothing was crispy. I ordered it dressed so I understand with the mayonnaise and other wet ingredients that there might be some degree of sogginess, but this was crazy. Almost like it was never crispy. That was unfortunate. The amount of seafood was also disappointing. The catfish filet was a good size but there were only a couple of oysters and shrimp on the entire sandwich. Overall, it was good but not great. Not really worth the $13 price tag. Overall, this place is pretty good. I can't say much for the other po' boys here but the Streetcar was pretty enjoyable and the fried pickles are outstanding. After hours of drinking the namesake po' boy is probably outstanding but being relatively sober right now, I can say that it was not that impressive. 3.5 out of 5 stars for service, flavor and the fried pickles.
