Went to DSBG on Monday and got in at a discounted price thanks to Groupon! While most of you expect to see flowers at the botanical gardens, this wonderful place puts on an amazing Christmas light display at the end of November which runs thru December. The display was amazingly beautiful. I took my girlfriend for the first time and she loved it. It is a great place to go as an alternative to driving through Christmas Town each year (McAdenville) and it is more affordable than going to the Lowes Motor Speedway in Concord to see Christmas lights. They also have a fire pit outside where you can gather around and roast marshmallows and make s'mores. Definitely a great place to take a loved one. Normal price to get in is $15/person for 2015. There is currently a Groupon going around right now where you can get in 40% off if its still available. They also have a station where you can make a pinecone ornament or a wreath. When I went, there was even a karaoke station setup where there was a couple of kids singing some Christmas songs. The only reason I nocked this place down one star is because I feel $15 for regular priced admission to this event is a little more than it should be. They should keep the price the same as it usually is when you go to view the gardens. I don't feel there is a need to charge a premium price compared to what they normally charge. But I do understand there is some extra cost involved for the extra electricity they are using most likely.
