| - I've recently had a terrible experience. I've lived here for nearly two years with no issues until relatively recently. The office management is extremely unprofessional and are unwilling to work with you even if you are a good tenant. I had an issue with my bank account and my check bounced for the first time ever in my life, and as a result I got a whooping $410 in late fees and legal charges, it was a complete mess. They claim that they "hand delivered" to me a "Pay Notice" which I never ever received, so all the fees were accumulating while I was completely unaware! After a long week at school, I came home on Friday afternoon and heard someone slip some papers in between my door and frame like a solicitor. It was an eviction notice and a court summons! It read that they were suing me for my past due amount plus late fees and attorney charges. They were asking for some 2k! I was like, are you serious?! First of all, I understand that my check bounced and its my fault regardless of the situation and I was willing to pay it all including the bounced check fee. However, given the that I never received a notice until friday afternoon with a court date in 5 days hence, with outrageous fees to pay up is absolutely ridiculous! Had I been properly informed by the administration about my bounced check, I would have had sufficient time to take care of the issue before it escalated into this fiasco. Furthermore , I tried to explain and negotiate a plan with the office management and they began to raise their voices at me and threaten me with legal action. They told me regardless of what I claim, I would lose in court and pay additional fines. I am extremely upset how I have been treated. I have been a great tenant these past couple years. This new management team is extremely unprofessional. They obviously do not care about me or my circumstances. As full-time hard working ASU student, I do not recommend this property. Yes, its good location and the apartments are alright for what you pay, however, the management can either make it a great place to live or often an awful place, and they certainly have made this an awful place for everyone. Other recent issues include inefficient washers (They do not clean your clothes) needs a complete replacement. The pool emits a foul swamp-like oder. The complex has become infested with thieves and drug dealers (My bike and my clothes were stolen!) I will not be renewing my lease here as planned and I'm certainly going to let all my friends know at ASU!!!
