  • My wife just left this facility and was treated absolutely terrible. After finding a lump in her breast, we contacted our physician who ordered a mammogram. My wife has a family history of breast cancer, and a grandmother who passed in her early 30's from breast cancer that metastasized, so as you can imagine, we were quite concerned. We had everything pre-cleared for the mammagram by our insurance, and she was scheduled for service at this location. It was quite a debacle getting her in initially, as they claimed to have no record of a physician referral, which took over an hour to figure out. She then proceeded to have a tech work with her, who also felt he lump, and agreed that it was concerning. The radiologist onsite, Dr. Jane Sohn, was the next to consult with my wife, and did so in a demeaning (and borderline demoralizing) way. She informed my wife that they don't do mammograms for people under the age of 30 (which my wife will be 30 in a week, but shouldn't be an issue with the family history), and then proceeded to lecture her on the likelihood of it being an implant leak as opposed to the potential of a cancerous tumor. The insensitivity and lack of concern given the family history deadly cancer, is beyond disturbing to me. She then turned my wife away from the mammogram, not allowing her to have it done, though she had taken the afternoon of off work to make this happen. I work in the field of cancer care, and I am beyond saddened to see that this is the approach taken by some. If this does turn out to be something more serious, They'll be hearing from someone representing us, next. Steer clear of this type of organization which apparently lacks compassion and bedside manor, and choose from one of the many local competitors where you're likely to receive better patient care.
