| - I've lived in North Las Vegas all my life and started taking my pets to Ann Road Animal hospital since they opened and they've always been great. I drive by Aliante Animal Hospital almost daily and have been dying to try them out since they opened. Early last week I was going to call and make an appointment for some growths my pup has in her body, but unfortunately she jumped off the bed and hurt her leg and needed to visit the hospital sooner than later. Facility is brand new and clean (as it should be) and the front desk girl was ok. I checked in at 9:45 am and she tells me that if we are still at the facility after 11 when they close, I would be charged an after hours emergency fee, so my plan was to walk out at 10:59 regardless to not pay an astronomical fee, even though I checked in over an hour before closing. We go into the exam room and the vet assistant comes to take my dog and says they are going to do an exam in the back and the vet will come talk to me. The assistant brings my dog back and I wait for the vet. My dog had a green bandage on her leg and I ask what that is for, and she said "it's like a bandaid and can come off in 30 minutes." Still don't know why she has a bandage.... The vet comes in, very nice, tells me he gave her an injection, her X-rays were normal and she has a sprain. There was no discussion of a care plan before services were provided to my dog, no discussion of an injection or X-rays, no discussion of cost up to this point at all, so dummy me I assume it can't be too much for those services if there's was no discussion about the plan and cost ahead of time (which ALWAYS happens an Ann Rd) before doing anything... Not that it mattered anyway, they were already done at this point and I'm sure I signed my life away on their financial policy. (Not to mention the vet never even looked at my dogs growths, even though I told the receptionist and assistant about them). We are discharged 3 minutes before 11 and I started to realize I still hadn't discussed any costs with anyone yet. The front desk girl reminded me I was now 2 minutes before 11 and my total bill was $300!!! X-rays cost $200, which I would think would have been discussed with me ahead of time for this amount of money. The vet did a $40 injection without even discussing that as an option for my dog. The exam was $46 which is waaaay more than Ann Road. 18 months ago my dog had back problems and I spent quite a bit of time and money on her at Ann Road, where the vet would discuss ALL costs before providing any treatment or meds to my pup, everything from her back X-ray, ultrasound to a $9 prescription. If you choose this hospital, make sure you ask for all costs up front or you might get ripped off like I did for a large amount of money. I will be returning to Ann Road for all future services!
