My experience with this bank started off quite well. Then they changed policies that did away with customers like myself (No large balance, no direct deposit).
I started with free checking with no minimum balance/direct deposit. Then they required minimum balance or direct deposit to retain the free account or you could schedule a monthly transfer from checking to savings and retain the fee free checking account.
The first transfer was set up and I thought I was good to go with my transfer occuring at the end of the month (A time when I actually deposit money in order to pay my bills).
However they made an error and it tried to do the transfer mid-month and since there was not enough for the transfer. Boom! Fees.
I went to the branch and talked to them about the situation and they saw the error and fixed it and waived the fees. Great! Or so I thought...
The next month it happened yet again with a mid-month transfer. This time I spoke with the bank manager and she noticed that they did not in fact fix the issue. She fixed the issue and even showed me that the transfer was to occur at the end of the month like I requested and that the dates were correct for "starting"
Mid-way through the month it happened YET AGAIN. But this time when I spoke with the manager they were unwilling to refund the fees and she tried to tell me that I was mistaken on how it was to work. I asked three times how it was supposed to work. I never changed my perception of how it worked and her description was exactly as I expected. However a transfer date of the 30th (Barring landing on weekends which makes it earlier) is STILL not equal to a 15th of the month transfer no matter how weekendy it is...
It took a letter to their corporate office via BBB dispute resolution for them to finally refund the fees, and close my account as I took my business elsewhere.
However should you be someone who has plenty of money to keep in the account, and/or direct deposit then I would actually recommend them as a decent bank. They just don't want the business of us "lesser" people...
