Visited the Bakery Saturday during the street sale on the 8th of June.
Went in for a bite because I was craving for something small and decided to take a brownie. Took it out and little did I know I found a small white piece of their spatula in my brownie. First I thought it was a marshmallow as some bakeries add those in it. Before I found out it was a spatula I actually took a little bite to see if it actually was one.
But thats not where the bigger problem starts, so I bring it back to the bakery and I quietly talk to the lady in the cashier to save their embarrassment. She kindly called out the manager which as in the basement and I explain the situation.
The first thing I would have expected was a sincere apology but she asks me if there was anything else I wanted from their bakery and says sorry while she was walking towards the cash to get my refund of 3.75$.
I told her there was absolutely nothing I want from here and expected me to leave right after I got my refund. I wanted to talk to her about how to treat customers in situations like this but didn't give me a chance to.
So I asked who the owner was and she replied that she was the owner, I was speechless.
Asked for their business card, her name and decided to make a complaint (also made a complaint to the Quebec food inspection agency).
Two major complaints, - Quality control,
- Client/Merchant relations.
Its very unfortunate, the brownie was actually not that bad.
Would never return after that unpleasant experience.
Kept on thinking, what if I would have eaten that broken off plastic spatula???
