I had never used Whitey's before and saw the positive reviews. I brought my 16 year old Jeep in last month for an oil change. My mechanic Nathan was excellent. He notified me that I had some major problems going on with my steering system. He showed me everything and explained it all in a really easy to understand manner. He answered all my questions and I truly appreciated this. He was very professional and really nice to deal with. All total I ended up spending $1800 to get my car safe to drive again. Sadly a month later I started having other issues. They sent me to Tri City Transmissions.
Now for the not so great part of Whitey's.
I called Whitey's a week ago to get some clarification of what they do on transmission flushes compared to what Tri City does. There is a big cost difference. So while Tri city was busy trying to figure out my transmission issues, I thought I would do some research. I guess the guy I spoke with at Whitey's thought my question was rather stupid. I didn't bother to get his name as I was startled by his rude and flippant response. It was so unexpected. Six days later I have my car back and it is now having issues on the start up. I called Whitey's again to get some help and unfortunately I ended up with the same guy. I mentioned to him that he was not very nice to me last time I spoke with him. I proceeded to say something else about my car issues and the call ended. I called back to Whitey's thinking the call dropped off. I was told by the front desk guy that "Scott" did not wish to talk to speak further with me. I was truly shocked at this and asked if Scott was a mechanic. I was told he is the owner's son! Amazing I've spent $1800 with Whitey's and brought them my son's car. So because I mentioned to Scott that he was rude on the phone he feels that hanging up on a customer is the right thing to do? Seriously how juvenile. What if I had a real issue such as a complaint about the quality of work? Good grief what a ridiculous way to treat your new customer. I asked the service writer to have the owner call me. Of course no one did because he's up there in age and not involved in the business anymore from what a friend told me. So it appears that Scott is the "new" owner. So if you should have any workmanship complaints, show up in person. I have found a new repair place as I don't tolerate rude and juvenile behavior from anyone much less from a business that I just spent a lot of money with. Truly disappointing and irksome.
