There were no less than 15 machines with "Out of Order" signs on them. The place was falling apart - it didn't look like it should be opened for business. No coin changer - I had to ask the overly unfriendly old man attendant for change, which he dug out of a dirty Cool Whip container and threw on the counter at me.
I pumped $1.50 into one of the dryers and my clothes were still not dry. I pointed this out to the man and he YELLED at me, accusing me of being an idiot and that I wasn't using the dryer properly. When I told him I thought that the dryer was probably broken, like the other 15 machines in the place, he literally went CRAZY on me. I freaked out, grabbed my wet clothes, and ran out of there. When I got home I realized I'd left clothes in another dryer. I called the cops for an escort back into the place so I didn't have to worry about being abused by the sociopath that runs it. Totally nuts. The two officers that showed up told me that they've had multiple calls regarding this business with similar complaints.
Completely scary, awful experience. I grew up in "dangerous" neighborhoods in Chicago, but never felt as threatened as I did at Laundry Land. I wouldn't recommend this place to Satan.
