| - This was our annual "Airforce buddies" reunion celebrated with one show, various dinners & drinks, and just hanging out with memories of the 60s stationed overseas during the Vietnam crises. Anyway, I chose this show since we all lived and enjoyed the music of the Beachboys, Dion, 4 Seasons, Elvis, etc. With high expectations, the show started out with a medley of Franklie Valli, Di on, music that we could relate with and were connected in genre. Throughout the evening, however, the music switch from the 50s to 70s and to current hits. I couldn't understand the reason for the constant switch and would prefer just one era rather that the switch for no apparent reason. The most annoying was the reference to how the group got together and a home video with videos of the members in their younger days...and this too a looooong-wasted time!!!! ;-( One short segment was a tribute to Elvis, but the song who you would think would be a famous Elvis hit song, was a song that none of us (4 friends aged 70s) didn't recognize nor had any hit that it was an Elvis song??? Being the polite seniors that we were, no one in our group said anything about the show until I said, " Hmmm, I'm a little disappointed," especially after we all saw the Jersey Boys together a few years ago. The response then was predictable with, "Yea, how come the switch from the 50s to the 90s, and what was that home video all about." Conclusion: we all felt that we could not recommend the show to our fellow Islanders from Hawaii. The band was too loud also and didn't showcase the lead singer. Aloha
