| - You want to get screwed, go with ELITE!!! Part with your hard earned money with a company who will squeeze what they can from you!
We got Elite Movers to move our stuff interstate. The reason we selected them was (1) my wife liked the lady Donna she got the quote from. I moved ahead of time for my new job, so wanted her to be comfortable. (2) price wise they came in at $1050. Thinking even if the cost go up 50%, this was still reasonable for a good move.
What actually happened:
- Pickup was prompt. They picked up within a couple of days of posting. Professionally done.
- When they came in for the pickup, the quote went up to $1800. Since it was only my wife there by this time, she agreed to this as we wanted the move to happen.
- Donna promised likely delivery within 2 weeks. It NEVER happens that it will take longer than that, so why worry about it. That is what Donna said.
- So we waited 3 weeks and called in. At this point you never get to talk to Donna. You get a run around that we must wait for them to call, do not call them. Turns out Donna is done with the pitch so the super customer service goes away.
- 4th week comes in. We call in to complain. This is when you now are connected to Roy, the operations manager. This is where we find out all the hidden language. Delivery is normally within 2 weeks, but Elite NEVER promised that. That I'd our fault for interpreting it that way.
- We asked to put this in storage as we had a vacation coming up. At this point, now we are forced to pay for a storage fee. How about the free storage for 30 days? Oh no, sorry, you should have asked that upfront. It is 30 days from pickup. Since Elite could not deliver for a month, that was the customer fault, not theirs.
- At this point, they have your stuff, so keep paying for Donna and Roy. Oh joy.
- Now the day of delivery arrives. They call you, and state I needed to be there the next day. What time I ask? Can they do this in the mid afternoon? I have a new job after all and they are calling me Tuesday night for delivery the next day. Oh no, I needed to be there exactly at the time the truck arrives. I do not have any options. What time exactly? Oh somewhere between 10am and 2pm. We will call you, you just need to be on our beck and call. After all, Elite is my customer and Elite ALWAYS comes first. If I am not there, they will move on, and I will be penalized and they will come some other time. I drop everything, tell my new boss sorry, and leave in the middle of a meeting to attend to Elite.
Total cost?? $2200 from an original quote of $1050. And by the way my bed had tears, silverware broken, and my bike got knocked up.
Elite, if you do not care for your stuff, go with Elite!
