My fiance and I stumbled upon Niko's after a trip to Dasonii brought us into this strip mall. We like coffee. We like coffee shops. This place has good reviews and it looked busy enough to warrant a visit after dinner. She got the light roast and I got the dark roast. My guess is that they called my coffee a dark roast because it was bolder than the other coffee they had available. BS. I've had bolder Gatorade. As far as looks go, Niko's has a nice coffee shop vibe going on and they had live entertainment the night we went.
Not that this is any representation of the coffee shop itself, but sitting in the first row of seats in front of the Jazz group was a middle-aged woman who's child was free roaming through the storefront like a cheetah on cocaine. I'm sure she would have noticed how disruptive her bundle of joy was being had she not been texting on her phone the entire time I was there. The child misbehaving is one thing, but the blatant disrespect of the people performing for your enjoyment was outrageous. There was a time in my life where I would have really been rooting for her piping-hot coffee to find its way out of the cup and into her lap, but person I am at this point in time just casually hoped karma would swoop in to do its part while I was there to witness it. There's something about coffee shops that attracts very selfish, self-centered people sometimes, and that's part of the beauty of them. It's like conducting a social science experiment without paying tuition and applying for government grants.
