We inherited a sideboard/wine cabinet from my mother--she bought it at a garage sale about 25 years ago for $75 (!!!!), and it was always in our foyer growing up. My dad hated the thing (art deco is apparently not his style!), so my mom gave it to my husband and me. We didn't have anywhere to put it, so it languished in our garage, collecting dust and being subjected to the super-dry desert climate. We recently moved and have the perfect spot for it, so my husband surprised me by taking it to Chair-a-medic for restoration, and I have one word: WOW.
They did an incredible job. I don't even know what to say. It brought my mother to tears... in a good way. They obviously put a lot of care and love into the restoration, and they preserved the original hardware and wood, and it looks absolutely amazing. They tried to find a maker's mark to help us age and identify it, but no luck. No matter--it's just a wonderful piece of our family history, and now it's something that can be passed on to my daughter and generations beyond. And it looks fantastic in our great room!
Thank you so much to Bob and the gang at Chair-a-Medic. You guys did a GREAT job!
