My plans were to go home and go back to sleep after this mornings exam on the autonomic nervous system, but of course, I never do what I plan on anyways. I ended up here, after driving around aimlessly and half-asleep thinking of all the crap I had to do today. I walk in, and I'm greeted by the two baristas, and stared down by the male one. It made me feel very uncomfortable...I'm thinking, Gawd, I know I look bad this morning (Literally, I slept in the clothes I was wearing, my all-nighter was cut short by me passing out, good thing I got dressed prior to doing so), but staring makes me feel worse!
I'm sure the barista noticed my unease because he begins to tell me about how I look like someone he knew that was from South Africa... as long as she really looked like me (or better) I have no qualms with this, but made me think about scheduling with my hairstylist pronto.
I ordered a 16 oz of the Chau Chau (white chocolate and blackberry coffee drink) from the Specialty Drinks menu, by suggestion of the female barista and something I believe to be a cinnamon roll, drowned in pistachios (they're a nut and green, how could I not love them?!). This came to like $5.98, a lil' too steep for my wallet, costing Next a star, sorry guys, I'm still a 'broke' college student... So, while waiting for my pastry and drink, the male barista continues to tell me how he's tripping out about my likeliness of this African woman he knows...Mind you I'm going off of 2 hours of sleep, so I'm thinking to myself, "...yea, uh huh, coo' , nice meeting you too...wait, what? I need my coffee to comprehend you..."
The interior is rather large and has a comfy atmosphere to it, but at 9ish am it was crowded. This place was brimming with local moms and students, and probably a combination of the two, so I took myself outside to enjoy my breakfast. Ooooh, nice plush patio chairs, you don't get these at DD or Starbucks! And to my nut loving surprise, there was pecans in my roll too, when things like this occur I know G-d truly loves me...I sat in those chairs long after I had finished my breakfast just staring out into the parking lot, I don't know if this was due to bliss or just utter exhaustion.
