| - A cable that rolls up the garage door had broken causing the door to be all slanted and we could not bring the garage door down at all, with 4 grown people trying to do this. There was no way to close the garage door, and we needed to make sure we could do this
Called Matt around 4:30 pm after going to a garage guy in my neighborhood who wasn't around or picking up his phone. Found Matt on the NextDoor app. Explained the problem the best I could and he said he would be at my home within an hour, which he did.
It turns out that the cable that rolls up the garage door broke and the previous people living in this house had done a crappy job of basically piecing it together instead of replacing the cable.
Matt assessed the problem, gave a quote that we thought was reasonable. Replaced both cables (one on each side) and fixed the door. He felt the door was a bit heavy while doing the repair because our door was insulated, and that possibly the garage door spring was the wrong size. However, to ensure, he double checked with a tool and discovered the spring size was fine for our door and said we didn't need this.
Honestly, we wouldn't have known whether the spring size was the right size or not and he could have ended up replacing this, which we agreed to if it was needed. A person with little or no integrity would have done that even if we didn't need it and made a little extra money doing so, but Matt did not do that.
He fixed our problem and so far, the garage door has been working fine. He did share with us an issue he noticed regarding a the garage door motor gear and said this should be replaced within the next 6 months or so. I will be giving Matt a call at the end of the summer to replace that gear.
He is available 7 days/wk all over the valley and beyond. The charge is a little more on Sundays, but that's reasonable. He is the owner, as well as the technician. Very professional, friendly, customer service oriented. Highly recommend.
Our garage was up and running before 6 pm. So from time I called to time it was fixed, less than 1 1/2 hrs. I caught him at the right time.
