| - [SIDE NOTE] I would totally give a 4.5 if this were possible, but I'm content with 5 stars :)
So to the untrained eye, this is your average convenience store. Upon a closer look, you will see that because this convenience store is by-the-lake, it has all your ice cream, sorbet & froyo needs for those beautiful summer days on the boardwalk.
This is a small, family owned shop that boasts it's stock of local ice cream from Kawartha Dairy (which if you haven't tasted, you are missing out), both by-the-scoop and take away pints. There's also delicious yogen fruz, milkshakes, and my favourite: watermelon sorbet (which is the only by-the-scoop sorbet). They are soon to also have soft serve, but after tasting a fresh scoop of the hard stuff in a waffle cone, you'll forget all about it.
I would say that I've got too tiny issues with this place, but one of them has already been addressed: the lack of other sorbet flavours. They recently have brought in these pre-packaged "island" sorbets which feature flavours like coconut in a coconut shell and lemon in half a hollowed-out lemon.
The only other issue...it's a small place, and it gets busy on hot, sunny days. Your wait is worth it though, you'll probably have half your ice cream eaten while waiting in line to pay for it. MMMMM.
