I'm attempting to DIY paint my kitchen cabinets. I patiently waited at the paint area for some assistance from one of the employees. Finally, one made eye contact with me and asked if I "needed something." I'm not a professional painter, carpenter, etc. so I'm going to ask for assistance from someone who, more than likely, has more experience with these things. I asked if he could give me some suggestions on what I would need to do my task. The employee actually did one of those - look over the rim of his glasses and eye me up and down - things. Then he asked if I was sure I really wanted to do something like that all on my own. I get it, I'm a girl and he just can't imagine I'd be able to paint my own cabinets. I said yes and he shows me some white paint. I asked about primer and sandpaper, since that's what the site I read suggested I used. He scoffed and said that I wouldn't need it if I had the right paint.
Long story short, I ended up leaving without buying any of the supplies for my kitchen. I went to another location and got some real assistance and now have some bangin' kitchen cabinets.
