| - Oh so terrifying, and oh so good! Consider this the official kick-off of the Halloween season. With Elite-style front of the line passes, the frights never ceased as we made our way through the five well executed haunted house experiences. Fear Farm's Friends & Family Night will certainly haunt me for quite some time.
Erin S and I invited some of our bravest friends to take on Fear Farm, Yelp style. Upon arrival, we received VIP wrist bands and drink tickets. The anticipation was high as we made our way through the entrance. Slaughterhouse drew first blood. It was definitely my favorite of the houses because it included your good old fashioned Friday the 13th, chainsaws and razor blades type scares. The actors never broke character in this house and would move right into your personal space to ensure maximum terror. I loved every minute.
After that, we bounced from house to house, each one having its own theme. If one didn't scare you, another found a way. I really enjoyed each of them, particularly Legends of Goatman and Undead. The Mouth of Madness (clown theme) was a little cheesy for my taste, but still had its clever moments.
The most memorable of the night was our trip through the corn on the Haunted Hayride. All of us hopped aboard a long wooden sleigh dragged behind a tractor. A spooky tour guide then narrated as we rode along through a town plagued by insidious monsters. Some of the costumes are cosplay style and the actors really make it believable. I highly recommend this attraction.
We had a great time throughout the night. We mingled with the actors roaming about, had our photos taken (another perk of the evening), and reconnected with some Yelp friends from the past (Nader, Kay, Andrea).
A special thank you to Hailey, who helped coordinate the event and answered all my questions about the guest list! Hopefully we'll get to finally meet you at another event. Also, thanks to Fear Farm for putting on a wicked good show. A truly top notch thrill. And, always, thanks to Yelp for hosting another amazing event, and introducing several of our good friends to what Yelp has to offer.
