  • BUYER BEWARE!!!! I will share my entire experience. Things started out well enough. We found the carpet we liked and while browsing the store, we were a little nervous. There was some attitude detected from the staff, and whenever a phone call was finished one employee would make comments to one another about the call. Very unprofessional. We almost left, and probably should have. When we sat down to order our carpet for the new home we were moving into, we were informed that we would have to pay 100% up front for the order. We were also told that there was a 6-10 day window before our carpet would arrive, which was fine. We were ordering carpet the third week in May and were not moving into our new place until June 5. We ordered the carpet and scheduled the install for June 5. So far so good. We get an email on June 2 telling us that "somebody" dropped the ball, and that our carpet would now not arrive until two weeks later than planned. We were told that for our inconvenience we would be reimbursed for the cost of our install. That was fine, and we were good with that. Now comes the install day. The crew shows up and does a walk through of the job. The foreman promptly tells us that there isn't enough carpet to do this job. Not enough was ordered. So, I get on the phone with our salesperson, and we are told that the carpet we want isn't that popular, so it will take three more weeks to get it because of back order. The day before that install we get a phone call that the carpet didn't make it on the truck because it is now backordered another 6-10 days. At this point I am getting very perturbed about the situation. Our sales rep sends us an email apologizing profusely about this situation and assures us this isn't common business practice for CarpetsNMore. Then we are told, in writing, that because of all the confusion and problems associated with our order, that they "would absorb the cost of the materials". To me, carpet and padding are materials. I thought they were telling us that we would get a refund for the carpet, etc. Finally, we get another email telling us that the carpet is now backordered indefinitely, and that they can't tell us when it will arrive. So, I go to the store and sit down with the sales rep. I ask if there is a warehouse here in town that they have. They do. Okay, I ask. How about we have them look through the warehouse and find some carpet that is similar and set up and install ASAP. I am told that could happen, and that they would get back to me. I said, NO. How about you make a call right now and ask them while I am sitting here, and let's get this handled. While I was sitting with the rep, I asked for them to clarify the definition of "materials", and what they meant about absorbing the costs. I was told that meant that they would be taking care of the carpet and that we should get a refund. I left it at that, assuming that was a pretty good explanation. About 45 minutes later I am informed that there is indeed some carpet in the warehouse that may do, so I look at the pics. It does look good. So, I drove all the way to the south end of town to look at it to make sure. It was good, so we got it installed. Honestly, the install job was done very well and it looks amazing. So, now we are post install. We got a check finally for the installation, but still nothing for the "materials", whatever that means. I have checked back several times, and the answer I am now getting is that they promised to refund the install costs, and they don't know what else I am asking about. I sent them copies of the emails where they state that they will reimburse for cost of "materials", and now another day has come and gone with no response. At this point, I figure that we aren't getting any more money back from them. I urge everyone to very carefully assess whether or not the risk here is worth any possible savings. Is it worth it to you to sleep on the floor for several weeks while waiting for new carpet? In closing, while I was sitting talking about the situation, I was informed of two other things. One, that I was not the "only" customer who was experiencing a similar situation, and Two, that the company had just changed some upper management personnel and was experiencing some severe customer service issues. As I said at the beginning, BUYER BEWARE!!!
