| - The location is lovely, a beautiful place to spend an afternoon with family which I did yesterday. We had dinner and wine tasting. First the good points, then why we I won't go back. At dinner, Megan our waitstaff was great, attentive, friendly we never felt ignored and she was great answering questions and accommodating our party. The food was adequate, probably equal to a meal at Bravo but certainly not any more interesting. My favorite was the bread and dipping oil, which was flavorful with a combined olive oil and tomato flavor. We had reservations for an indoor table for six. That was ready for us a little early and we were glad of that. Sadly those were the high points of my visit. While Megan our waitstaff clearly understood we were guests the people in the tasting room obviously missed that day in orientation. They have a rule that you may taste three wines at no charge. My cousin did not know or wasn't told this, it was not posted on the wine list or anywhere in the tasting room. So when they changed shifts and a new server cleared our glasses in the tasting room, she asked for another taste and the server said loudly and rudely "No,you already had three" as if she was trying to get over on them for another ounce of their wine. As he seemed to intend, my cousin was embarrassed and explained she did not know there was a limit. There was no apology from this rude man. When they poured my first taste it was listed and labelled Chardonnay. No further explanation needed. Now, I have been to Sonoma, the Finger Lakes, and the Erie wine areas. Each visit I felt like I was welcomed into their home. The staff explained the process, described each wine, offered me a place to dump the wine out of my glass if I did not want to finish it and showed me the pitcher of fresh water to rinse my glass for my next taste. I have had at least two wine classes and I know I am no expert but presumably when you want a taste you expect some teaching. For my second taste the server did not bother to explain what I was getting or how it was similar to what I asked for, "What do you have close to a Pinot Grigio?" She neither offered a place for me to toss out my first wine and rinse my glass nor did she do it for me.The answer was "Rosabella", nothing else, not another word. I figured "Ok she's a kid". Another server who appeared more mature asked me if I wanted my third taste and I said yes please. I got whatever was the third white wine in the "dry" group. Again no explanation or teaching. I said "I would like my glass rinsed as that wasn't done before" She said, "You can do that yourself you know". These people were rude! In the room where you purchase their wine, they were crabby too, and the process was confusing and the people were rude. I will never go to Narcisi Winery again!!! Go to Bravo the food is the same the wine will be what you ask for and the bill will be less!
