| - OMG, I love the staff here. I called a day before we stayed here over Labor Day. The nice lady got a lakeside room reserved for us at the standard rate being a Gold Hilton Honors member. Plus, we got free breakfast in the Executive Lounge. We arrived here early so were not able to check-in early. However, the nice front desk lady gave us a parking pass to so we could at least visit around the Capitol area. We did the Monona Terrace Tour and came back to check-in. The room was amazing over looking both the Monona Terrace and Lake Monona.
ROOM
One pet-peeve was that there were glassware outside our room from the last guests. Also, there were a lot of dishes from the neighboring rooms as well. I called and housekeeping came to clear some of it. It wasn't until later the next morning when more glassware were picked up. The bathroom was a tad-bit on the small side but otherwise functional. The bedroom was also a bit smaller but a room with the view made up for it. We were able to see the sunset and sunrise which was amazing. Plus, we could walk to the Lake Vista Café on the Monona Terrace rooftop for lunch and dinner. Who could have asked for more?
SERVICE
The breakfast on the 14th floor in the Executive Lounge was the best. It reminded me of an even better Hampton Inn complimentary breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage. There was even steel cut oatmeal as well as fresh fruit- blueberries, strawberries, cantaloupe, pineapple, and honeydew melon.
PARKING
Just a note that parking does fill up since we noticed a sign of FULL PARKING. It is $13 night which can be charged to your room with in-out priveleges. Overall, this price is about right for Capitol area.
Overall, both of us thought this was a romantic night and give props to the staff at Hilton. We did see a wedding group and it was actually pretty quiet on our floor.
