| - We recently went here on a double date, and were underwhelmed.
The food was fine, but there were few standouts. We sampled a lot, including the Lobster Salad, Ensalada Mixta, Creamy Rissoto, Stuffed Piquillo Peppers, Brava Potatoes, Pan de Hongo, Grilled Ribeye Steak, and beverages. Of the tapas, our favorite was the Pan de Hongo, but it's hard to screw up bread, mushrooms, and cheese. I liked the Brava Potatoes, but others thought it was heavy on the sauce. Everything else was fine, at the appropriate temperature, and served as stated on the menu. Again, adequate, but nothing that totally wowed us or justified the price.
For the most part, the wait staff was polite and attentive, and understanding when the other 2 in our party arrived later than the time on our reservation. The restaurant was clean. The huge seats at the tables in the back were comfortable. No major complaints about the service or facility. However, there was one weird thing that happened.
Strangely, when the boyfriend ordered the Lobster Salad and asked for it with no corn, he was told they couldn't do it because it was "pre-made like that." Thinking it was mixed in with the other ingredients we accepted it and ordered the salad "as is." However, when it arrived, the corn was plainly sprinkled on top of the salad. So, either the chef and staff were unwillingly to make a simple accommodation for a diner, or everything is pre-made and plated in advance and just pulled from a refrigerator. Either way, I'd expect more from a "classy" restaurant in a "hip" casino.
My boyfriend and I agree that though everything was "okay," the restaurant suffered from a major case of "trying too hard." We likely won't be back.
