| - I like the slick, clean look and the door that connects to next-door Pho Thanh, but that's where the extra points ends. It's not a bad place, don't get me wrong, but Pho Thanh has always been a "no-frills outpost" but Milk Run is kind of a hipster place, so the connection here is jarring if you ask me.
Regardless, the drinks are decent, and variety is present, and the ice cream is homemade. I generally have a respect for anything Vietnamese run, but can abstract that statement to "all things Asian" as, generally speaking, there is an emphasis on making the best of what you have instead of going with pre-made things like sauces. How many ice cream places do you know actually handmake their ice cream and go through their inventory so quickly that there's a fresh batch? If you look at some of the other user submitted photos for Milk Run, you'll see that the lines here are real, because there is definitely quality in their products that customers desire. Kinda like In-N-Out, but for desserts.
I really hope this place takes off, Phoenix needs more places that emphasize quality over slick looks and "hipster" experiences. Look at California, try to model after that!
