  • One of the best places near Vegas to hike and climb. Red Rock is always a stop for friends/family from out of town but many of them just want to see the "red" rocks which is only a small part of what the rest of the canyon offers. The "red" rocks are at the beginning of the scenic drive but most of the best hiking spots are towards the middle/later parts of the drive. If you're lucky, certain trails have streams and rivers running through them which offers a refreshing change of scenery. Ultimately, Red Rock is usually best hiked in the fall, winter, and spring when the weather is cool and you won't die from heatstroke! 1 Day Pass: $7 Annual Pass (for a whole year): $30 recommended trails: Ice Box Canyon (water), Pine Creek Canyon (water), and Turtlehead Peak which is quite strenuous but the view of Las Vegas once you get to the top is breathtaking.
