Wow! I took my bike in to take off the suspension fork, change handlebars, and generally take some weight off of it. This was Saturday and it was to be done The following Wed. Friday I get a call that the fork didn't fit and they ordered another one. A week after that I start calling and it's not ready, we're really busy and we'll call you when it's done. Finally I get it, and take it home. Immediately notice the front brake is out of adjustment, and the pedals hit the ground when I go over curbs and stuff. They took the kick stand off because it was too low with the new fork. I took it by Landis and they told me everything that was wrong and that there was no reasonably priced fork to fit.
I ran it back to BOP and Joe says he found a Suspension Corrective fork that will fit. It's the same one Landis told me wouldn't fit because it's not a long threaded tube. I pointed out the tube to Joe and he admitted I was right. So I left it again to have the original fork put on and I didn't like the bars he originally ordered. Joe agreed to order me straighter bars at the same price and I could trade straight across. So I come back a week later and it's finally done. Joe informs me I must have broken the front vee brake when I adjusted it??? He found an old arm in the spare parts that didn't match and put it on. Now we go to settle up and he owes me 40.00 for the fork that didn't fit. He informs me that he only owes me $32.00 because the bars we were trading straight across are more expensive.
One of the most frustrating pieces of this whole puzzle is all the times he would tell me "I'll have it done today, and call you." This took about a month!
Nice guys in there if your nice to them. Let's face it, no need to get upset, it's a bicycle, meant for fun. Luxury Problem, Right?
