I went to Caketini based off of the good cake pops to order a very large cake for my son's 8th birthday. We ordered a two tier elaborate cake based off of one of the pictures they have on their website. I knew this cake was going to be pricey, so paying $150-$200 was not a shock. I was very specific on which flavors, fillings, and icings we wanted for both layers. For that much money I wanted to make sure we had a delicious product. When I picked up the giant cake it looked good and was close to the picture from their website. I was a bit bothered that they did not have any sort of boxes for the cake, but I loaded in my car and was off to the party. Once we cut into the cakes and I tasted my slices I noticed the filling on one of the cake was not what I ordered. I ordered a red velvet cake, but did not like their cream cheese frosting so I asked for buttercream, but I still ended up with gritty cream cheese frosting. The second cake I wanted was confetti with buttercream. The next day I called and asked to check the bakers notes and I was told they don't make notes, but go off of a request form. I explained I had two cakes to compare and I know I did not get what I had asked for and for the amount of money I had spent the cakes should have been correct. I was told the owner would have to give me a call back the next day, it is now ten days later and still no call. Sad because this could have been fixed with an apology and some cake pops to make it up to my eight year old or a small percentage of a refund. I never expected a 100% refund because half of the cake was correct. I will not be going back to Caketini and if I am asked for a recommendation I would have to say pass based on how I was treated. This is my first negative rating, but it was well deserved.
