  • I wish I had checked Yelp before I went to this office. I was highly recommended to this office by the women with whom I work and they all said they had great experiences here for their pregnancies. I, however, am not, was not and do not intend on ever being pregnant. Everything seemed fine when I walked into the front office; it was clean, bright, friendly and welcoming, especially for small children, which makes sense since they call it "Mom Doc" and lots of people are there having babies. Okay, cool. I don't really like being around a ton of kids, but they have their own separate play area. Awesome. The assistant who took my history was good: thorough and friendly, but nothing special. That's fine, I don't expect my gynecologist to charm me out of my pants, I have to take them off anyway. But when the PA-C I saw walked in and immediately said, "You're obese, you really need to lose some weight," I was floored. Not because I'm not fat, but because if she had A) read my history or B) asked me any questions, she would know that I'm working on getting un-fat and TRAINING FOR A HALF MARATHON. I wanted to tell her she should wear less blush but that seemed inappropriate and unprofessional of me as the patient ... wait a minute, that seems backwards. She did my "well-woman exam" including an STI screen and I asked about birth control. Standard well-woman, right? Wrong. They billed my insurance for both a well-woman exam and an office visit, and when I called to find out why, I was told by the front desk that it was because I asked about birth control. At a well-woman exam. Did I mention the PA-C went off on me about other habits and threatened to not even prescribe the birth control in the first place? Oh yeah, maybe they charged me because I had to fight with her to get the prescription for it (due to my weight and social drinking, etc., she told me she didn't think it was appropriate to prescribe but she was going to do it anyway because I was requesting it -- I weighed about 185-190 then and run 5x a week). I requested a call back from billing and never got it. I chalked it up as a loss and a lesson learned. Do not go back to a mommy-mill. That's what this place is all about; people in and out the door to make as much money as possible. Someone's gotta pay for all that blush.
