| - *EDIT: Even though Prism commented below, no one got a hold of me nor responded to further questions. They don't care.
This review is in regards to a hairstylist named Ana who works there.
I tried to get a hold of the owner(s) to help assist with this matter but I didn't have any luck. Prism doesn't appear to even have an answering machine or an email to reach out for concerns. I'll go into further detail below but if you just want the bullet points:
*The hairstylist, Ana, was not able to successfully get the desired color. Not by a long shot.
*Ana admitted she didn't get close to the color and showed a lot of frustration with herself and why she couldn't get it.
*At first she blamed everything on the bad lighting in the salon.
*She still made me pay.... $400 in total.
*Two days after appt, and after much thought, I requested for half of my money back.
*Ana admitted she did not like the end result but would not refund me any money. She wanted to correct the color, but I politely declined, because I determined that she wasn't knowledgeable in this field and didn't want further damage to my hair.
*After a few days of going back and forth, Ana eventually stopped responding.
This review marks the worst experience I've ever had with a business and with a hairstylist. Hands down, it takes the cake. WORST EXPERIENCE. Ana said she was great with color and could achieve the look I requested. After TWO appts, six hours in the chair, and $400 later, she achieved nothing. After leaving disappointed two times, I slept on it for a day, and then called her and politely requested for half of my money back. I felt it was more than fair to request half of my money. Technically I could have asked for all of my money back, but I did consider the time Ana spent with me and just wanted to leave this matter with both sides being happy. My next step was to use the refunded money towards another hairstylist who could correct my color. The only issue is that she never gave me my money back. I tried very hard to be open, honest, and respectful with her in hopes that she would respond with the same respect. She admitted to not knowing what she was doing and after many texts, she just stopped responding. She said things like "I knew you didn't like the finished product, neither did I and it's been on my mind for days", "I'll ask the other hairstylists to see what they think I should do with the color" and "I didn't have the color available so I was working with the wrong stuff." All of it is admitting her errors and honestly annoyed me further that she even made my appointment knowing she didn't know what she was doing. How are you going to make an appointment and then later say you didn't have the right hair dye? It's all so confusing and chaotic and just downright wrong. As I mentioned above, I tried phoning the owners but couldn't get through to anyone.
I've posted a photo that she took outside after my two appts. Yes, I like to repeat "two appts" because I left there unhappy on two different occasions and both times she made me pay. The one on the left was my hair before contacting her, the one in the middle is after TWO appts ($400) and the last photo was the color I requested. I wanted a toned ash blonde and left with strawberry/orange hair. I *could* post screenshots of our texts where she's babbling on how and why she couldn't get the color but I'm not a child and I'm not here to hurt anyone. I'm here to warn others so that they don't waste their money. The after pics of my hair will do the "dragging" for me.
All in all, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT REQUESTING ANA for a coloring. After speaking with other hairstylists, it's very clear she doesn't know what she's doing. She also kept my money and was horrifically unprofessional. She only accepts cash and must be really bent for money. There are times in life when you should just admit the error and do the right thing and Ana just couldn't do that. It's wrong on so many levels to take someone's money when you didn't deliver the promised service. Plain and simple. This whole matter has taught me to NEVER pay cash, and to probably steer clear of independent stylists. Especially ones named Ana at Prism salon.
