  • I read the bad reviews and can't comment because the only thing I noticed is they operate at a more laid-back pace then the frantic CVS pace I'm used to. I can see how that would be frustrating if it was busy but I have only been there when there were 4-5 people so didn't notice much. It did take longer than I expected to fill the prescription but then I had never been to a compounding pharmacy so I didn't know. The first script took 5 days. The refill 1 day. I guess it just depends on how busy they are and if they mixed up a batch for a bunch of other people at the same time. Now let me tell you where they excel... I've always known there is something wrong with my body chemistry. I figured out quite by accident that I either need a LOT more of Bcomplex or I cant absorb it through food or regular supplements. Probably 8-10 years ago they day spas and weight loss clinics came out with what they call "lipo plus B" which is an injectible B-Complex plus three other ingredients (acronym MIC but I can't remember what it stands for). It was kind of a mini-miracle for me. I went back to day spay/weight loss clinic again and again until I figured out the dosage and frequency that kept me happy and healthy. Unfortunately, they charge anywhere from $20-$40 per 1ml shot! I need that every other day. Do the math. For a couple of years I found someone where I could purchase legally and at cost. Then I moved out of state for a couple of years and when I ran out, I ran down. I called Green Valley Pharmacy which I knew made it but couldn't get any help. They couldn't serve me out of state but had another pharmacy in my state. I had a doctor willing to prescribe but he had to know the ingredients. I went around and around and around with them and every other compounding pharmacy I could find on the internet trying to get the "recipe" for this stuff which is really common now. When I moved back into Vegas I went back to my old doc who is a good listener and fairly open minded. He agreed it could do no harm but also needed the ingredient list. I stopped by Partell, explained the situation and within 5 minutes I had the magic recipe I had been seeking for years. My doctor wrote me the script and while it isn't covered by my medical insurance. $75 dollars for a months supply is a far cry from what I would have paid to go have a shot every other day ... not to mention the inconvenience. It is at least covered under my FSA so my cost is pre-tax. They helped me when no one else could so if they flub up on timing or something, I'm going to forgive them quite a bit. It's made an amazing difference for me. I can't speak to anything besides vitamins. I'm sure actual drugs are more complicated, more regulated and just tougher all around but have zero experience with compounding in that regard. What I can say is I went through a LOT of drugs trying to figure out where the imbalance was that was causing me so many problems... no more drugs. Just the B-Complex MIC shots.
