  • I've been lucky lately in picking the good spots to enjoy a beer in the Phoenix area. My latest find is this place and it did not disappoint. It's a very upscale brewery with a cool bar and brewing equipment in the background. Just a very relaxing environment. The menu board is pretty extensive and has a large amount of choices from lagers to saisons browns pales ipas and porters. I pretty much am prone to go the hoppy route as I'm from Cali and that style is what makes or breaks a brewery so I usually start from there. The birthday suit ipa sounded like a good one to start with 7.6 alcohol and 92 IBU's. I loved the malt profile of this beer. It had great body without being overly heavy. It finished really clean and the hop profile was great. Next was the 24k imperial IPA which is much higher alcohol at 10% alcohol. This was a kicker and totally sneaks up on you so beware. It has a bit more medicine on the hop profile and richer than the BS before. Still very smooth and delish. Next was the dynamite pale which is the lightest of the 3 with only 6.1% and and ibus of only 55. This was not as good as the others and had a slight funky aftertaste. It wasn't bad if you are looking for something lighter and less hoppy but for hop heads like me it didn't cut the mustard. Finally I've tried the Scottish ale which again was very true to style, strong with less hops but not overly sweet which I liked. I'm not a fan of kiltlifter from 4 peaks and this to me tasted way better than that. Overall I was happy to try this place out and will definitely be coming back when in Scottsdale. By the way when I was there I saw a board of beers they have that they put into different barrels and age the beers that are on tap. I was told that you have to come on Saturday's between 1-7 pm and head to the basement below. I'll be all over that when I'm in town on a Saturday.
