| - If I had one of the those huge, foam #1 hands, I'd use it to describe Quicken Loans Arena.
The "Q" as us Clevelanders call it is a great thing for our city. It attracts dozens of great shows, musicians and concerts from all around the world and brings them here to good ol' CLE. Now that's good for tourism AND our economy.
As a venue, I enjoy the "Q". It's modern, new-ish and well built with loads of garage space. The traffic can get a little hectic, but when you put it into perspective by thinking of past Cleveland arenas, it's heaven! Plus, I think other cities have it much worse. It's right next to the freeway and very easily accessible. Other great factors:
it's within walking distance from just about anywhere downtown and simple to jump on the Rapid.
The inside is very high energy and positive. Cavaliers and Monsters schwag is everywhere and reminds us all what we have to be happy about. The bathrooms are always clean and staff makes it easy to navigate to your seats.
If you have the opportunity to check out the suites, do it! They vary in size and baller-ness with the price and location. Although, even the smaller ones make you feel pretty important. The staff keeps the refreshments and food stocked (depending on what the owner of the suite paid) and there are usually at least two flat screens to watch. Plus, there is loads of seating inside and out.
My only gripe is the over-priced food and drinks at the "Q". I'm quite positive that I'd rather not spend $7 on a draft Bud Light or a bag of popcorn, thank you. Just keep your fingers crossed that someone invites you into their suite... well, someone who stocked the fridge at least. (*wink-wink*)
