| - Fun!!!
I liked how when I walked around the venue, there is something going on. Whether there is a lonely guy, playing a melodious harp, a couple of Renaissance girls talking in their English accent about their business, group of 3-4 men/women singing an acapella song in a gazebo, and a woman just sitting on the ground like she was picnicking but wanted to have people come by to observe some knick knacks. I have been to the RenFest before, in Houston Texas, but it has been over 10 years. Having been to the one in Charlotte, brought back memories and it is just as enjoyable. The RenFest brings entertainment, nice place to shop for various things (candles, clothing attire, blacksmith stuff, abundance of food and drinks like Chaucer's Mead - a wine, and etc).
*sigh* I much prefer this over a fair. Because its has a different atmosphere and provides entertainment around every corner where you are walking. Sure, buying a souvenir is pricey, but I just came for the food and entertainment :)
