  • Dmv is always a drag. Never look forward to going there. On the plus side, the wait was about 75 minutes which is an improvement over spending 3+ hours for past visits. Only one star because of new trollish rules supposedly imposed by the state. Number 1, they no longer permit the mailing address on the renewal drivers license. Over 5 years ago the home mailboxes were vandalized more than once, my mail was stolen including a replacement credit card, fraudulent credit card charges that i did not make happened due to stolen mail. Nightmare experiences occurred over the multiple mail thefts. Notified the post office twice to fix our street mailboxes that took well over 6 months before i was contacted. Sick and tired, changed my drivers license and everything else to a PO box and ever since all mail delivery goes through there so that my mail stays at the post office and not driving around the city in their little trucks or sitting in a street mailbox waiting for street thugs to steal it. Told the post office to take their key to my home group mailbox and stick it. It was better having the drivers license with my po box mailing address, cause now every time there's a need to present it, have to explain that my mailing address is different and warn not to send important mail to the address on the license cause i will never receive it. Now, the renewed license is a PITA because DMV wont let me keep my po box # on the renewed license. Number 2, when you request visual evidence that they really do have your mailing address stored in their system, which is important to ensure any important paperwork they mail such as a jury summons is sent to uour proper mailing address, the window troll has to leave you sitting at their station for 15 additional minutes while they visit another troll to obtain proof of your mailing address. Then when the window troll presents you with the visual proof of your mailing address they won't let uou take the printed piece of paper with your mailing address with you when you depart. My comment to the window troll was "I requested it, and it's my Personally Identifiable Information, PII, so why can't I have it?" The window troll said "It's the rules". DMV is the place of arcane rules and window trolls. All Nevada DMVs deserve minus stars. Avoid Nevada DMV offices whenever possible.
