I love the Market and go there with my husband nearly weekly to pick out our groceries for the week. The selection of produce, meat, fish, poultry and prepared foods is great. The atmosphere is fun yearround. It's definitely a Cleveland staple if you're new to the area or a tourist!
I'm only giving it 4 stars instead of 5 for a few reasons:
- Parking. If you go on a Saturday, be prepared to find street parking or circle the lot a few times before finding a spot.
- Hours. If you don't live/work/play near Ohio City, their hours may not be convenient for you. I've heard talks of them being open more days (including Sundays!) but for now, MWF and Saturdays are the only days the Market is open.
- Quality of food of SOME of the vendors. Check your food before you buy! Some vendors may give you bruised fruit, moldy vegetables, etc. so ALWAYS check before you purchase- don't let them just give you a bag of pre-selected products (unless that's the deal). I have certain stands I go to on a normal basis that I trust, but if I stray from them I always choose my produce and let them weigh it.
