  • I've got very mixed feelings about Trader Joe's. There are some things they are very good at--such as being trendy. They also have very inexpensive flowers, which means you can pick up a cheapie bouquet, if you're not concerned how long it will last. On the other hand, the stuff they don't carry is inexplicable. One time, I went in and asked for corn meal, and was told they didn't have it because it is "seasonal." Corn meal, seasonal? The staff is friendly, but the aisles are narrow enough to dismay a gerbil. The wine selection is excellent for a grocery, though. As I say....mixed feelings.
