  • Yet another update: The Kona grill is open and the disaster that was its construction is over. I can't think of a project that was as poorly managed or organized under such a poorly structured ownership arrangement (Scottsdale Quarter owns the retail space separate from the residential portion of the building) so prone to failures. With the full knowledge of the situation I now have, some of my previous scorn should have been heaped upon the Quarter's management as well, as they clearly didn't seem to have much regard to what residents were going through while their new tenant barnstormed this place. The lesson here is be VERY careful moving into any building with a retail component attached to it; especially ones in which that retail space is yet to be developed. Fortunately, life here is returning to normal which is a good thing as this is still a great place to live. The revolving door of personnel in the management office has stopped and we now have a GREAT staff in place which greatly helps with getting problems addressed. For full disclosure, I was fairly compensated for what I was put through however it's worth pointing out that at no point in time was I asked or pressured to update this as part of that compensation; I'm writing it of my own volition because I felt it was deserved. That said, Alliance still has work to do to equal the experience their predecessor offered residents. The difference is now, with a permanent staff in place and attention from regional management, I now believe that's an obtainable goal.
