| - I went here for a cake for my mother's 70th birthday party. Everyone seems to rave about her cakes, but honestly, I was unimpressed. The salesperson (who was probably in her late 50's at least) needs a little training in how to advise people and avoid stereotypes. She kept steering me toward lemon flavors, even though I specifically stated that my Mom does not like lemon in particular, because (I quote her) "the older ladies really like lemon." Huh?? She finally relented, after I explained that my Mom is not your typical "old lady" and let me pick my own flavors. It was a bit offensive. When I picked up the cake, they forgot some of the decorations that I'd ordered and Tammie overheard my conversation with the desk person, stepped in, and quickly tried to make something. The cake had her signature swirly fondant, but the taste of the actual cake was just ok, not particularly moist or flavorful. Just very sweet. I appreciate pretty, but like the cake to taste really good, too. The look is just in the swirly, bright fondant, not any spectacular decorating skills.
