rev:text	My washer stopped running last night so I decided to look on Craigslist to find someone instead of calling a major appliance place. I found action appliance and called them this afternoon around 12:30 and they said they could have someone come out in about an hour. The service charge was $25. They arrived around 3:00 and after about 2 minutes he told me that it needed a switch and that it would be $146 installed. That seemed high but I agreed, and he said I needed to pay in cash. I said I was going to pay with a check and then they told me I now had to pay tax, so my new total was $158. I thought that was weird but I went ahead and paid with a check and told him I needed a receipt. It took about 5 min to replace this switch and when he came back to give me my receipt he said "I don't actually have a receipt with me today but I will drop one by, so I wrote it on this piece of paper." Weird, yet again. The paper had the price, the words "3 month warranty" and his name. I told him to date it too, and he did. There is good and bad with this. It was cheaper to pay $156 than it would be to buy a new dryer. It was fast and my washer now works. However, I like having a real document to show what I bought and the company info on it. So I grade them down for that. Also, I did a google search on the part and it was $26, so I apparently paid $130 in labor for approx 10 min in time. I think I was overcharged, and I don't think I will call this place again. The work seems to be done, but I think the prices and charging a different price with a check is a bit shady.
