This is a review of the Fan Expo Sports Card Show of 2013. I thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a decent collection of dealers. O Pee Chee and Score Hockey had just come out for the year, and people were picking them up from dealers at a voracious pace. Most of the dealers' prices were relative bargains vs the Beckett book price.
I liked that it brought together people who kind of like cards, but aren't die hards. Its good to get casual people who maybe just want to buy some cards of local or favourite players to put in their binders. The hobby needs casual fans, and I felt this show promotes the hobby of sports card collecting very well.
The costumes people wear are great, and their is a palpable buzz everywhere around the Metro Convention Center.
For autograph seekers and those who get excited to see famous people, this is a great event.
