  • HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, UNPROFESSIONAL & ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY! I never left a massage place SO upset and EMBARRASSED. Came in with other guest for the 1st time. I was also treating other guest besides myself to a 1 hour body massages. Thought it would be a pleasant experience, but it WAS NOT. Especially, when it came to paying. So let me clarify this, an hour deep tissue massage is $40/hr. Tipping is customary and tipping etiquette is between 15-20% of cost of service. I have no problem tipping 20% or more if I felt like I had received exceptional service. Let me come back to that part later. First of all, I get massages all the time by professional licensed masseuse, every 2 weeks or so for YEARS. I've had every type of massages done, but my favorite is deep tissue, due to my line of work. So, I got my 1hr "deep tissue" massage from an older male therapist, which I did not enjoy because clearly he WAS NOT experienced. It was obvious the technique was NOT at all deep tissue..I almost got up & asked him to stop because I felt all he was doing was rubbing oil on my body, with very quick motions, "where are you rushing to? Do you have somewhere to be at??" Was not relaxing at all!! No pressure in the area that needed attention, even after I had pointed out the areas. Maybe there was a better "experienced" therapist, but I got the short end of the stick that day. Here is where I'm giving them a 1 star. When it was time to pay, I thought tipping 18% was pretty decent for a NOT so enjoyable massage experience. They asked me the amount I wanted to add for tip, because they did not have a separate tip line for you to discreetly add tip like every other businesses out there. I was VERY SHOCKED that my 18% was not enough for a horrible massage service of $40??? They were demanding a $10 tip for a $40 service! That's 25% tipping!! They pointed to their ridiculous tipping chart, $10 Good massage, $15 Excellent & $20 Best. REALLY? Is there one for "BAD MASSAGE"?? May I add, the manager/owner told me HIMSELF that his therapist did an hour massage & demanded they should get a $10 tip each!!! Unheard of!! This happened in front of others in the waiting area. I've NEVER been so embarrassed at a massage spa. I expressed how it was not polite to the manager/owner to demand tips from your customers. He didn't even apologize. All he kept saying was "they did 1 hour massage & you need to tip $10". I gave them their $10 tips & MORE so they can shut up & stop their embarrassments. I will NEVER step foot to this establishment again after how they treated me. NEVER! And I hope readers will avoid also. I'm in the service industry and would NEVER asked for more than what the clients want to tip me. And if the customers are not tipping 18-20% that means they were not getting good service, and a hint to the owner & staffs that maybe your service quality need to improve?? This is not how you run a business. I predict this establishment will not stay in business long, if they continues to do this. I hope the manager/owner reads this & hopefully make some changes if they care enough about their business.
