I am having very similar problems as others have detailed. I went on-line and filled out the entire form only to receive an email message saying that I needed to call the customer service line. I called customer service and received an automated response saying that their phone lines were experiencing a high volume of calls and that I needed to call back. Okay - then decided to call all my other utilities and set them up with my new address. APS took a while because I have solar, but all in all got everything handled in an hour except SWG. City of Phoenix Water Services took two minutes and the customer service rep. on the phone congratulated me on my new house. So, I called SWG back the next day and the next day - guess what - they were experiencing a high call volume. I then retried to submit an on-line form. It said I couldn't. I moved into my new house and the gas was working. I thought - oh, this is easy, they just have to do a name switch. I emailed and then tried to fill out the on-line form. Again, I was told I had to call. This was on Friday. On Saturday morning I go to take a shower and it is freezing. I couldn't believe it - my gas was shut off. Great - so I go to call and find out they are only open M-F 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nice - I am using my coffee maker to heat up water so I can wash down my kids. My new house has a gas stove and gas water heater. Today, Monday I call SWG from work to try to set up a time and I have to wait on hold forever. I actually have to start and stop a few times because the hold wait times are crazy. I finally got through and now I am told that no one can come out until Friday - THAT IS A WHOLE FIVE DAYS! That means an entire week with no hot water and no cooking. That just doesn't seem right! I am so angry, I fired off a nasty email (which won't do any good). I have been a customer of SWG for 15 years. I finally moved and just wanted to switch addresses on my account. This simple request has turned into a cluster because apparently Jeffrey Shaw, President of SWG or anyone who works for him has never tried to turn on their gas or tried to give a baby a bath in a sink attempting to heat water in a coffee maker because no one would be in their area for a week to light a pilot. I actually think I could get an electric water heater and electric stove delivered and installed before SWG gets around to turning on my gas.
