| - I truly only visit this location because it is the most convenient between my job and my house. This was unfortunately the first gym I went to after moving from the Midwest, and let me tell you, quite a disappointment. I was thinking, they can't all be like this right? I really couldn't believe a gym (that of which belongs to a corporate franchise) could look like this! Imagine walking into a gym in 1994. Surprise, you're at LA Fitness on 32nd & Camelback!
Customer Service has been quite a hit or miss. Shane (personal trainer) was amazing in going over my fitness evaluation, being very thorough and personable. However, most of the time all I see is the associates sitting behind the front counter chatting. I also asked a gentleman at the front desk where a class was being held since it was already almost 10 mins after it's scheduled time, and he responded with, "Ummm yeah it should be going on. I actually have never even heard of that class. I didn't know we had a class like that." (After showing him it on the LA app.) *eyeroll*
As mentioned, I do often attend the group classes at this location and have luckily found some gems there! John (Yoga Instructor) & Becky (Kickbox Cardio) are so great! They are true professionals and their passion shines through in their classes. I sometimes even feel bad that they have to teach at this location since it's so shoddy. (But I appreciate it!) :)
I just recently visited the McCormick Ranch location, and it was a breath of fresh air. Gorgeous faculties and amazing staff. Night and day difference on every level. So glad to see a different side to LA Fitness!
Final thoughts?
Head to a different LA location if possible, as this one should be offered free to the public as bad as it is.
