  • What to get: deconstructed steak sandwich, grilled vegetables Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: trendy, casual Wait: 20 mins (Tuesday 6PM for 1) Parking: street The Experience: [August 2016] One of the best meals I've had to date. It was worth the visit from out of town. I'd visit Pittsburgh again for this place. Located in the Strip District(?), this street is filled with ethnically diverse shops and restaurants. There's a lot of one way streets in the area, so you may have to loop around like me to find a spot. I'm a chicken when it comes to city parking, so I parked hella far from the restaurant, but it was street parking. Walking to the restaurant, Penn Ave is reminiscent of a smaller Chinatown, but a lot more than cultures. The place is at the very end of the street. If you think coming with a tiny group (aka party of 1) will get you seated faster, you're wrong. The line weaves in and then out of the entrance along the sidewalk. I'm no stranger to long waits, but just a heads up if you want to come with people. If it weren't so popular and busy, I'd come here with the girls for a girls' night out with an accompaniment of wine. It certainly looked like the thing to do when I was eating there and all the groups were merrily dining and drinking wine around me. I chose the deconstructed steak sandwich and a plate of grilled vegetables for some variety. The meat was PHENOMENAL. I need to learn better vocabulary for food descriptions, but the steak was perfectly marinated and flavorful. I could have just eaten steak for my entire meal! The crisp toast and marinated and grilled vegetables were a fantastic complement to the beef. Only way to improve this meal was to have a glass of red wine to go with it. I still drool over my pictures of the dinner I ate there and I wish other cities were blessed with this kind of luxury as well. I'd say this is one of the key places to visit while in Pittsburgh. Nothing short of amazing.
