  • Of course my fireplace gas logs broke just when it was going to be 32°. I called public service and the man came and looked at my fireplace and said "oh no, you have no damper, and this fireplace is in the bedroom. I'm going to have to red tag you." And he did. There was a big red tag with the words "hazardous condition" that he flung at me and said would not return until I either removed the bed and put in the damper or... There is nothing else I can do. To Google I went and I found Carolina fireplace Repair. John came out the next day and informed me that the man from public service was out of his mind because I had a ventless system that did not require a chimney nor a damper. And this is why I hate the living. But I do not hate what Carolina fireplace repair did for me. Within a few days I had a new system that was put in cheerfully and wasn't too expensive. I actually went to Amazon and eBay to see if the unit was any cheaper there and it was not. I give these company five stars and highly recommend them to anyone. Those of you that know me know that I do not give them five stars easily
