Marcello's pretty much sucks. The service and decor are mediocre. The food gets a D+/C-. The Caprese salad featured extremely underripe tomatoes (come on, I know it's Septmber but you can still get a decent friggin ripe tomato), and grainy mozzarella. Too many "herbs" (none fresh) and no balsamic on it or available. Boo. I tried the chicken with pepperoncini and sausage, bad idea. Overcooked poor quality chicken and some sauce-like thing I would never try to duplicate let alone serve and charge money for. My date had the veal marsala which was a stretch to call pedestrian. But you can't mess up 5 layer chocolate cake for dessert, right? WRONG. Dry, gravelly, and a host of descriptions I can't effectively articulate. Avoid this place.
