Saw the USA Today article on this chain and thought it would be worthwhile to check out. First, this is a stand in a line to order place. The line did move along rather well and we only were in line for 10 minutes on a Sunday at noon. There were four of us and we had one 1/2 lb. rib order, two pulled pork sandwiches, a brisket sandwich, several coleslaws, four drinks, and a bag of chips. FIFTY BUCKS!!! Wow, I thought that was high for what is essentially a carry-out restaurant. As for the food, if this is considered good Texas food no wonder those people are so angry! My brisket was flavorless and so dry I had to douse the meat in their BBQ sauce to help it go down. The sandwiches were served on grocery store hamburger buns that fell apart almost immediately. The coleslaw was also dry and completely unseasoned. The pulled pork was just a tad better but neither sandwich contained a hint of smoke flavor. I get more smoke flavor out of my Weber grill. Two levels of BBQ sauce are at the table. The regular one is so-so. The other is condescendingly labeled "Sissy Sauce." Not everyone is in to spicy food and they should not be humiliated for different taste levels. I understand the seating concept is supposed to be casual country. But, it is so loud you can barely carry on a conversation with table mates. I'd recommend visiting a place like Lulu's before you head here.
