Like everything else in this city, when it's kid-related, during tourist season, expect a wait time...especially on the weekends. Everywhere has them. Pictures with Santa, the lights at the train park and yes, now the new IllumiNation of lights. So come prepared. Go to the bathroom before you leave. Bring snacks for the kids and plan on waiting in line to get in. BUT. It's worth it! It's worth the wait.
This light show was done very well. They have a radio station with music synced to the show. Once in, it's perfectly organized and allows you to drive slowly through so that even the driver can enjoy the lights. It's not short so you feel like you got your money's worth AND there is a play zone with bounce houses, food, games and pictures with Santa at the end. Plus if you don't want to do that at the end, you can do this entire experience without getting out of your car and leave after the drive through experience.
I'm glad they put this together and like any new thing that comes to the Valley, I know it will only get even better over time. But I think it's silly to knock this experience because of the wait. If that's the case then you might want to stay inside your house until Christmas is over.
