| - I had a wonderful experience during my first appointment at Designs in Dentistry. I felt like the dentist listened to my concerns and thoroughly checked my teeth, while the hygienist did a nice job cleaning them.
Since then, I have had such terrible experiences that I no longer feel comfortable going to this practice. I went in for a semi-urgent check, during which it felt like the dentist was more interested in gossiping than reviewing my films and inspecting my mouth. The result: she missed an important diagnosis, and she sent me off to another specialist (another person to charge me and my insurance money that could have been saved if the dentist had spent a little more time doing her evaluation). After the semi-urgent check, I went back for my regular check-in with a different dentist in the practice, who not only kept making excuses for her colleague's missed diagnosis but also examined my mouth so quickly that I could have gotten whiplash. After this drive-by examination, she declared that I needed not one but two fillings. Since then, I've seen another practitioner who agreed that one of the two fillings might be needed down the line (but certainly not yet) and the other would be completely unnecessary damage to a perfectly good tooth.
If you've ever wondered why the reviews on here are so mixed, it's because the quality of care here is so variable. Do you want to risk crap care when you truly need it because, from time to time, you might get appropriate treatment? I don't. My mouth deserves consistently good care.
