I was in vegas with a group of friends this past weekend. It's not uncommon for clubs and bars to lure you into their venue with promises of free drinks and promos. However, Chateau promised the backstreet boys and free drinks so we thought sure, why not? We arrived around 1030p and it wasn't crowded. admission was $20 for women (plus 2 free drinks) and $30 for men (no free drinks). We had very low expectations. I assumed the backstreet boys would be tucked away in a very exclusive VIP section of the club away from the crowd. Afterall, this was the 'after party" for their concert that same night. I assumed they would just want to relax afterperforming. Well, it turned out to be the opposite. 3/5 of the BSB arrived around 1130 on "stage" and performed for nearly 90 mins. We were lucky to have been already standing at the front (no one knew there was going to be a performance much less where the stage would be). While I would not consider myself a BSB fan, I was familiar with their songs (especially if you grew up in the 90s/2000s) Anyway, they performed some of their most popular songs in addition to covers of other 90s/2000s hits (not BSB songs). The crowd was going wild and it was packed. It was a mix of men and women. Everyone was totally into it for the full 90 minutes. It was truly a unique experience. The club is a rooftop, so it was amazing to see this performance with the vegas strip as the backdrop and underneath the Eiffel tower. Drinks were about $20 each but they were top shelf (grey goose). This was such an unexpectedly fun and memorable night.
