ive only read one review of this place on yelp so far (alejandro a's) and like him and im sure all the others, i too will confirm the size of the patio.
its kind of like this: imagine theres a building, a brownstone. its older looking from the 1800s probably, and it has big old looking mouldings, carvings and tall windows. imagine that there was a similar building attached to its westerly side and god came by one day and said poof! and the building was gone. now theres only concrete, or in the words of the black bull, a patio. THATS just about how big it is.
once youve gotten a seat, which will be earned, you can get pretty mediocre food and decent beer. without the patio this places popularity would level off very clearly. not a bad place, not spectacular...though ive been there in the winter a few times and hung out at the bar inside which is one that is oval in shape and is towards the back end of the room. the bartender was very nice and we ended up having a bar conversation with the other couple guys who were there. it was very chill and enjoyable.
plus of course its in the heart of queen west, killer real estate and a nice stop.
